Confit Byaldi
When I was in elementary I ate in the cafeteria which was "cool" after all those packed lunch boxes are emptied right after I opened. At that time I never knew about the highly cooked delicious cuisines. All I ate was lip smacking food that my mom use to prepare at home.
What always interests me besides my mom's food is the origin of it. I started cooking at the age of 18 when I was alone at home and found a Maggie packet. Initially, it consumed a lot of my energy and patience but sooner I started liking to cook.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Ratatouille is a french cuisine which traditionally is stewed or sautéed with eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. I have pursued the version called Confit Byaldi, that was made really popular by Pixar. It's the same flavour and same ingredients made beautifully just by slicing with a mandolin or a knife. All the vegetables are laid out to look like a gorgeous shingled layer on top.
With the lease flavoring elements, this is made just with vegetables, olive oil, dash of salt and pepper. Patience is very much required while you prepare this dish cause this took 150 minutes for me to bake and serve but worth the wait.
This weekend I have decided to do the above cause when I dreamt of eating Ratatouille, the last time while I watched the Pixar's movie. And nonetheless, it came out much better than what I expected it to be.
Thanks to my mom for helping me sort out few things while I really needed.
